What I liked
A chance for hands on experience teaching high schoolers about domestic violence and healthy relationships. I liked learning how the curriculum is shaped and remodeled and I was also provided several state modules on domestic violence in terms of legality, support services, and the societal aspect.
What I wish was different
I wish my job duties had been a little more organized. I had to be very proactive about finding work for myself, and sometimes helping outside of the domestic violence department.
Advice
Expect to learn more about self-care and to make connections and learn from the Philadelphia youth. You're not leading them; you're supporting them.
