Teaching Assistant (Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and Secondary School)

What I liked
I enjoyed working with High School students and helping them whenever possible. Most students were retaking an English class that they had failed in the previous school year, so I would help them with concepts that were hard for them to understand and help them be clear on directions for writing assignments.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have helped out more with grading and other teacher duties, but that will come when I am certified. Other than that, the teacher I followed was fantastic and I learned a lot of teaching strategies and techniques from her.
Advice
I highly suggest this to future teachers so that you can be immersed in a normal classroom setting before starting your student teaching. This will help with classroom management skills, time management, and with understanding how to build a mutual respect between teacher and student.
