The mission of the organization is compelling: justice and efficiency in state court administration.
What I wish was different
Management is lacking. There are few to no opportunities for growth.
Advice
Be extremely clear in your interviews and negotiation about your role, and expectations.

Administrative Assistant Intern
June - August 2019 • Denver, CO
What I liked
The office had a nice atmosphere and everyone there was very helpful and friendly. I also liked that apart from what you'd normally associate with the job of an intern, I also got to do things like look over proposals, contracts, resumes, and help people get organized for various summits.
What I wish was different
I think it would have been nice to work more with other people. I was often alone for the large majority of the 8 hour days. In a way this probably couldn't be helped given that I was much younger than most of the people in the office and that I didn't have nearly the same level of experience in the consulting/business world as they did.
Advice
For this job, and jobs similar to this, it is important that you take initiative in asking people if you can help with things. I had little to no direct supervision throughout the day, so when I completed the tasks I had, it was my job to ask where I could do more.
