What I liked

I had been challenged for my skills and have seen a genuine growth. There is also a diversity of different projects making each assignment engaging. To also be caring for the patients and also creating media for the audience to connect with.

What I wish was different

My ability to manage my schedule when school started to build up, I needed to tune my time management skills.

Advice

Be continuously vocal, always communicate your issues and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Try to always create new things.

Rare Action Network Volunteer State Ambassador

July 2018 • Fayetteville, NC

What I liked

Provided the opportunity to learn more about the field I plan to enter upon graduation. Gave me the opportunity to network more with people in the field I plan to work in. Allowed me to push further into rare disease advocacy and learn my strengths and weaknesses

What I wish was different

I wish that I had more time to dedicate to the work with more opportunities to engage outside of my state.

Advice

This is hard work, remember to take time to breathe and reset your batteries. You can't pour from an empty cup.
