I enjoyed working in a community health clinic that serviced marginalized populations and in particularly traveled to meet our target population. I had direct contact with patients, medical providers and I was trained on the job.
What I wish was different
I wish there was greater organization and communication between departments.
Advice
Be aware of the your intentions and discern others intentions because it will mark a difference in all areas of service; in the manner that you behave and perform your duty with excellence, the atmosphere in which intentionality creates and the communication it forms with those that you come into contact with. While working with different medical providers you could see who better served the target population because their intentions aligned with the mission of the clinic and they shared the same values. Another advice is that this opportunity will requires a significant time commitment.
