I loved the relationships formed between the handlers and the animals. I also loved working with each animal in the zoo and being able to work with each one.
What I wish was different
It is very fast-paced and they strive for time efficiency. It needs to be done but interns are thrown into cleaning sometimes.
Advice
This experience is very well worth it, but it is definitely not easy. It's messy and it's very hot and sweaty during the summers, but the payout to see animals live in a clean enclosure is well worth the time put into it.
