I loved learning about the campaign and interacting with the governor. It was really cool to see her in her element and how she was as a regular person. I also learned a lot about Oregon politics in general.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been more independent and innovative in bringing my ideas to the table. It was hard to strike a balance between wanting to participate and not wanting to interfere with the staff's work.
Advice
Reach out to as many people as possible! Internships are all about making connections that you can use later, and the connections you make might surprise you.

What I liked
I really appreciated the access and opportunity I received at the Governor's Office. I really liked working with a small team, and contributing to social media in a productive and meaningful way.
What I wish was different
I wished that I was able to integrate into the Office culture more quickly.
Advice
Be sure to communicate your expectations, and make sure you understand what is expected of you early on.
