Building Carpenter

What I liked

I was able to acquire new skills as I worked. The first show that I helped to build, Maleficent, I didn't have as much of a complicated role as I did on the next show, Mama Mia. I could track my progression as a carpenter from my first day on the job to the last.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had already been graduated so that I might be able to continue working for PACE as they returned to school this semester.

Advice

Build connections with people that you meet in your field, I got this job from a friend that I had met in the Atlanta Theatre Tech scene. I'm most happy to have gotten a new friend for life from my work at Synchronicity Theatre but it really didn't hurt to have this special opportunity to work at PACE Academy offered to me by a friend I had made while loading in scenery.
