I transferred there for the summer to make more money, because the company rumor is that you make the most money in Houston. They were SO over staffed that I wasn’t able to make any money.

Customer service, particularly the restaurant business, can be pretty stressful and demanding (if you work at a busy place), so make sure you take care of your body.

Light training in the kitchen to get to know the food better before I became an official front of house manager.

The freedom to choose my schedule. The ability to rotate through each position in the restaurant and follow managers.

The stress of long hours, given a little more direction.

It will definitely let you know if you want to work in hospitality and restaurants specifically. Ask as many questions as you can.
