Paradise Point is located on the largest private beach in McCall, so needless to say it is absolutely beautiful. They provide amazing support for staff and they ensure that everyone feels safe and at home.
What I wish was different
I do wish that there were more showers and bathrooms for the staff. There were only two showers available for the 20+ staff members.
Advice
It's one of the most difficult jobs you will ever love. Your heart has to be in it, or else it will emotionally and mentally break you.

What I liked
The land that the camp is built on is absolutely breathtaking up in McCall, ID on Payette Lake, the staff (which was comprised of young adults from all over the world) were especially hard-working and amazing to work with, the camp strives to conserve the land it's built on, and with the camp offering many different camps throughout the summer it allowed me to gain certification and knowledge in many different fields (Lifeguard certification, CPR/First Aid, Challenge course certification, and knowledge/experience in the hundreds of activities offered).
What I wish was different
Although I do feel the support system for staff is good up at Paradise Point, I do believe that there could be more mental and emotional support for the staff. It is not an easy job, especially the position I held as part of leadership. It would be helpful to have more support for the stresses the job causes. This past summer they did hire on a Human and Behavioral Specialist (whom had worked at the camp for many years prior in my position), which was helpful, but it was only the first year that the position existed so it definitely could use some growth.
Advice
DO IT, but do it with your full heart. Working at a youth summer camp is it's own type of beast and it cannot be taken on lightly. Go into the job with the awareness that you will be stretched out of your comfort zone every single day, but that it will make you a better leader and a better team member by the end of the summer. I know it did for me.
