Parker Hannifin Corporation

Engineering Intern

May 2018 - August 2019 • North Haven, CT

What I liked

I was able to approach different engineering problems how I felt fit. The freedom to explore different methods of rapid prototyping made this a valuable research and design experience.

What I wish was different

There were periods of downtime where in order for a project to move forward, it required approval from one or more superiors in the department. This led to several times of waiting for design approval without being able to continue forward.

Assembly

May - August 2019 • Otsego, MI

What I liked

I enjoyed the consistent hours and the face paced environment. I also enjoyed that our breaks were paid.

What I wish was different

There was a high amount of gossip/drama amongst the other employees that occasionally make it a stressful environment to work in, especially as I was only summer college help and had no interest in their drama.

Advice

This was a good opportunity to work full time and make some money. If you do this job, do it well and be responsible. Don’t get involved in drama and be kind to everyone. Also, have fun outside of work, it’s easy to let a full time factory job take over your life.

Material Engineer co-op

January - October 2019 • Syracuse, IN

What I liked

I liked the environment and the people I worked with. Everyone was willing to help inside or outside of work. This made being away from home and other people a lot easier than it would have been if I had not been shown the kindness I was. Whether it be a car not starting or just needing a ride somewhere there was never an issue to find someone to help.

Internal Audit Intern

June - October 2019 • Mayfield Hts, OH

What I liked

What I wish was different

During my time at the company, the internal audit intern serves more as a data analytics intern. With that being said, this intern will report directly to the data analytics manager in the internal audit department. I wish that I would have been more exposed to the work that the field auditors do, as there is currently not an entry-level role for data analytics.
