Professional Supply Chain Intern

May - August 2018 • Cranberry Township, PA

What I liked

From the minute I started, I was welcomed with opened arms and i was never discouraged from asking questions if i didn't entirely understand something.

What I wish was different

I wish I had asked for an analysis on my progress more frequently, that way i'd be able to make changes in the way in which i had done things throughout the summer.

Advice

Never be afraid of something new, especially a new work experience, as most companies understand that you are unfamiliar with either the environment, the work flow or sometimes both, but they are more than likely to help you become more accustomed.

Software Development Intern

May - August 2019 • Cranberry Township, PA

What I liked

The team I was put on was amazing, they emphasized a good work/life balance which I found extremely appealing. My coworkers were very kind and the intern program took the interns through a series of events that showed us what PPG was like as a company.

What I wish was different

Honestly, not that much apart from more specific details about events during the internship program. Other than that the internship experience was amazing!

Advice

As an intern, ask questions. You won't know everything (unless you're just that good) and your boss knows that. So ask as many questions as you need to do your job well.

Professional Intern Supply Chain

May - August 2018 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

This Internship experience was amazing! It provided an all-around experience of what a Supply Planner does day-to-day, I was part of many meetings my boss was in. I learned a lot about the importance of buyer-supplier relationship and the business PPG has with their vendors and suppliers. I learned more about Excel and an ERP system like SAP. Furthermore, I improved on interpersonal communication with fellow colleagues and co-workers. Also, I got to learn how to live on my own in a big city such as Pittsburgh, PA.

What I wish was different

Honestly, I wish nothing had been different. It was truly one-in-a-lifetime experience. I practically was PPG's Architectural Coating's Sundries Supply Planner for the summer, since my boss had this job and his Senior Management role.

Advice

Do not stop asking questions. This enabled me to learn as much as I could with the little time I had working with systems I worked with along with the people that were there for guidance.
