What I liked

Working environment and atmosphere among volunteers. Feeling of contribution to the community and society.

What I wish was different

The working time is around 17 hours in the day and it’s exhausting. So I hope it could be 12 hours or less.

Advice

You must sleep well before the day, bring your food and drink and wear suitable clothes.

What I liked

What I liked

I loved working with kids and my dynamics with my coworkers. My manager was also a great guy.

What I wish was different

I wish they had gotten back to me regarding my interview sooner, it seems like they lost my application and I had to reach out to various people myself.

Head Counselor

May - August 2019 • Woodbridge, VA

What I liked

PWC Parks and Rec consistently host excellent camps for both the students and the counselors. This is a fun, fast paced environment perfects for someone who enjoys working with kids and being on their toes. I was grown in my leadership capabilities and supported by some great supervisors.

What I wish was different

Because of the nature of the camp, most days go without being able to take a break. While it is fun, it can be tiring and it would be nice to be able to take a break away from the campers at times.

Advice

If you want a fun, active summer this is a great job. Be willing to sweat and get creative. It is a great environment to be a part of!

What I liked

I liked the ability to make the money that I needed to feed myself this year.

What I wish was different

I wish the management there would have been more efficient.

Advice

The management there is very sensitive regarding the safety to the kids to an extent where it is too far and takes all the fun out of everything.
