Princeton in Africa

Fall Intern

September 2019 • Princeton, NJ

What I liked

The team I worked with was extremely professional, kind and helpful. I was always given clear instructions from team members on how to attend to a task which made my life easier. Not to mention there is a close knit environment in the office which makes it a comfortable place for questions and immediate help. There was a wide variety of tasks that I worked on that made my internship interesting.

What I wish was different

I wish there were more members on the team.

Advice

Get as much done as possible on every working day.

Fellow

August 2017 • Rwamagana, Eastern Province

What I liked

PiAf is a great opportunity to get real experience working at an organization on the African continent. The fellows are a very thoughtful and impressive group and it was a pleasure to get to know them.

What I wish was different

The program is underfunded and so the office staff is spread very thinly and accepting a fellowship does require a personal financial commitment.

Advice

Be gracious; you’re at your host organization to learn. Don’t stress so muc h about “deliverables”.
