Private Practice

Dental Assistant

August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I like that I got to know patients personally and really familiarize myself with my workspace.

What I wish was different

When the schedule is busier, it's hard to maintain the rooms, instruments, and patients while following COVID-19 guidelines by myself.

Advice

Ask a LOT of questions and don't be shy about it, even if you've already asked the same one three times. Also, it's hard working so closely with people if you can't communicate with them, so just do your best to be pleasant and positive.

Clinical Psychology Intern

May - July 2019 • Douglasville, GA

What I liked

I enjoyed being hands on. I enjoyed being able to sit in on sessions with patient permission. I enjoyed interacting with children and parents.

What I wish was different

If there’s anything that I wish would have been different is that there were more patients I interacted with.

Advice

The piece of advice I would share is to be opened-minded and to be patient. Children communicate what they are feeling through different forms other than language. You just have to pay attention.
