The company ProTeX has good morals and provides exceptional service. Everyone at the office and in the field were super nice and willing to help when asking questions. Got hands on experience with real life engineering and worked directly under a professional engineer. Got to move all around the valley traveling to different job sites.
What I wish was different
The team I was put on for the specific area I was focusing on wasn't the greatest. I had to take charge of the team because the other two members weren't holding up their end that much. If I would have had a better team I feel like I would have had an even better experience at the internship.
Advice
Don't be afraid to ask questions to make sure you do things right! Everyone is willing to answer them and wants you to ask so you can learn.

Mechanical Engineer Intern
April - August 2020 • Tempe, AZ
What I liked
I loved being able to see how to think like an engineer in real life. I got to move all around Arizona working on different projects. I got to also experiment with methods of doing projects and trying to figure out what the best method would be to help in future projects.
What I wish was different
It was more of a civil engineering internship, but for my first one it worked and I still enjoyed it a lot. Definitely learned a lot and it was great job experience. A mechanical engineering internship would have been more in line with my major though.
Advice
Be willing to do hard things and don't forget to ask your boss any questions that you have. He said that asking questions is one of the most important things you can do, to prevent major mistakes from happening.
