The industry is super cool. I met some really amazing and talented people, and was introduced to parts of event planning that I had never even considered. My favorite part was going to design presentations at places like the Rainbow Room in 30 Rock and meeting with clients to showcase the designs we created.
What I wish was different
I was given almost no event planning responsibility and the women I worked with were not nice. The industry is incredibly cut-throat. I wish that I had actually learned more about Rafanelli. No one cares about interns.
Advice
Feel the vibe of the office and really analyze whether you could see yourself there longterm. If you think "oh I can handle this for a few months" that's not enough. You have to love it or you'll be miserable.
