“I like how friendly the staff is at RIDOH, and how willing everyone is to make sure the Scholars are involved in both their assigned projects and aspects outside of that. I was able to attend meetings with my supervisor for groups and programs that I wasn’t interning for which was a great way for me to learn more about the other programs in the health department. I was provided numerous opportunities to be involved in the state work, and helped with several activities run by my program throughout the summer. ”

“I learned a lot about how the Department of Health worked internally as well as the other sectors with the department. We had weekly meetings (Public Health 101) which was focused on different careers within Public Health. I also liked that I got to work side by side other professionals. I feel like I grew professionally with this internship. ”
