As a marketing intern at Sacred Heart Community Service, I learned about the internal operations of a non-profit organization. Everyone was very resourceful and kind in helping me navigate the company. I was responsible for generating social media content and analyzing performance using KPIs, finding solutions to increase social media engagement. I liked that I had a lot of freedom in completing my tasks.
What I wish was different
I really enjoyed my time at Sacred Heart Community Service, as I like having autonomy in my work. However, I would recommend more structure to guide new interns through the initial process, i.e. check-ins at the beginning/end of the week to review progress and performance.
Fully immerse yourself in the environment and get creative with solutions. Sacred Heart Community Service strives to make an impact on the local community, and you can get hands-on experience while you are there. It is a rewarding experience, as you can make a visible impact on your community when you put in the time and effort.
