Saint Francis University, founded in 1847, is a small Masters comprehensive, Catholic University sponsored by the Franciscan Friars. Saint Francis University's scenic 600-acre campus is located about sixty-five miles east of Pittsburgh in the Laurel Highlands region of central Pennsylvania, and provides an excellent learning environment for over 2,100 undergraduate and graduate students.
Saint Francis is an NCAA Division I (FCS) member of the Northeast Conference with additional conference membership with the Atlantic 10 Conference (field hockey) the Collegiate Water Polo Association (women’s water polo) and The Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (men's volleyball). Saint Francis sponsors 23 Division I programs (14 women's and 9 men's) in addition to marching band, pep band, dance team and cheerleading.
