Saint Martin's University Athletic Training

August - December 2019 • Lacey, WA

What I liked

The Athletic Trainer is very knowledgable and explains everything that she is doing with athletes and why. I am able to do hands on activities for further learning. I also learned different different terminologies and anatomical structures to help me in Nursing School which I plan on attending.

What I wish was different

I wish that the internship had been paid.

Advice

I would advise future interns to really take good notes with each athlete because it helps with all of the charting that is done later.

Web Assistant

March 2019 • Lacey, WA

What I liked

I really loved my co-workers. Technically they were my bosses but I was treated equally, with kindness and respect. I was allowed to work on projects I had interest in and I was able to make my own hours as long as I worked 20 hours a week.

What I wish was different

I feel like I spent m summer working instead of enjoying myself, I wish I had worked a bit less.

Advice

I am a communications major, I did not think I could be a web assistant with my current skill set but now I am one. My advice is to try out whatever you want or think you could be good at cause you never know till you try.
