What I liked
I enjoyed working on the research project for the whole summer -- it was a new and enjoyable experience to have a big problem to tackle into smaller steps and work on these smaller tasks every day.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to investigate research questions of my own. However, as a relatively inexperienced summer intern in a professional lab setting I realize that this was infeasible.
Advice
You only know if you like lab research once you have tried it – I would suggest that if you are at least mildly interested in it, then go for it.
