Saunders was a great place to work because the people were amazing. I enjoyed coming to work everyday and seeing the people I was able to work with. Along with the people I also enjoyed the type of construction that was being built. This internship allowed me to really dive into what it is like to be a project engineer and be given responsibilities that affected the project. I cant't wait to go back this next summer.
What I wish was different
I mentioned this with Saunders before leaving, but the only aspect of the internship that I would have liked different is to experience the finish side to a project. As well as hopefully work on a high rise in downtown Denver this next year.
When going into a construction internship, be ready to take in as much information as you can possibly do! They are looking for a person who is taught a task once and can do it by themselves the next time. Once they know you are responsible they are more willing to give you more important tasks.
