Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC

Program Management Intern

May - August 2022 • Aiken, SC

What I liked

I love the relaxed work environment and everyone is really nice. My coworkers treated me very well and not as if I was "just an intern". It gave me a lot of good experience working in an office. They also pay very well.

What I wish was different

Its a government job so it is pretty slow at times and they don't give you much to work on.

Advice

Network as much as possible. Make strong connections with the people in your work group as well as people outside of your group. You're also not going to be given a lot of work to do so create your own work. Try to see what needs to be done and where you can help out, then do that.

Safeguards and Securities Intern

August 2019 • Aiken, SC

What I liked

The culture of the company. Lots of cool history and a world-class safety/security program. The buy-in a cross the 11,000 site employees is very impressive

What I wish was different

I wish the work hours were different. Work started at 6-645 am, so it required waking up very early.

Advice

Just try something. Don't ever count yourself out or turn down an offer simply because it doesn't sound like something you'd be interested in. It can always lead to new opportunities!
