July 2018 • Tucson, AZ

What I liked

The exposure to the medical field, the ability to instill mentorship with medical providers

What I wish was different

The company structure was very poor. Poor sense of comradery amongst the scribes. The company is run by people who know science and medicine but not business.

Advice

It was one of the most rewarding experiences in terms of career advancement

February 2018 - April 2019 • Tucson, AZ

What I liked

Started out fine, able to work closely with physicians and PA's as well as other healthcare professionals to learn about the field.

What I wish was different

Everything else. Management is a nightmare and the people in charge have absolutly no idea what they're doing. Pay was measly at best and promontion was based on personal relationships rather than on a person's ability to preform. I personally was promoted to a high level position but saw no increase in pay and worked extra hours under threat of losing my job. I would highly suggest you look for a different scribing job, because these people clearly do not know what they're doing anymore.

Advice

Hone your typing skills and go elsewhere, this company is going to burn itself out and into the ground.

April 2019 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

It is a great learning experience for any pre-health student. I work in the ER and I have learned so much from this job! I work very closely with doctors, PAs, and NPs which really exposes me to the medical decision making process. It is a great job for anyone trying to gain experience in the health field.

What I wish was different

My starting wage was $11.50. I wish I would have been making more when I started.

Advice

If someone is looking for a healthcare related job that does not require a certification, this is a great opportunity. However, going into the job, it should be noted that this job is very much a test of attention to detail as well as multi-tasking, so it is not just an easy job that you can slack off during.

January - August 2019 • Tucson, AZ

What I liked

I loved the opportunity to form a relationship with providers and learn more medical terminology.

What I wish was different

Nothing, I loved my experience.

Advice

Be prepared to not know what is going on at first- you have to put time in to learn the shorthand, your doctor's nonverbal cues, and medications. ScribeOne is more than willing to work with you if you need additional help.

What I liked

I really enjoyed the experience of being on the reservation. I learned a lot medically and was able to learn more of the culture and lifestyle of the Native American people on the Apache reservation.

What I wish was different

I wish there were more experiences in the Phoenix area.

Advice

I would take a notebook that fits in my scrub pockets to take notes on things to further research at home.
