I liked how I was assigned a mentor and they did a great job teaching me all the necessary skills needed to perform my job as an intern.
I was also taken on job sites and was shown the real life implementations and installations of our designs.
I liked the Intern networking events that I was invited to. They were very fun and I learned a lot,
What I wish was different
I was put on residential site development from the start to finish. I wish that I could of looked at some commercial and industrial projects a bit more.
Advice
I would recommend that all the interns get some experience in the field before coming to this job. Having worked in the field made me appreciate the design work that I was doing.
I would also recommend that all interns should attend the network events that we were invited to. I feel like you are only an intern for a very short time in respect to your whole career path and it is a good chance to explore.
