Research Intern

May 2020 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

I enjoyed the steep learning curve and the responsibility that forced me to be prepared, timely, and engaged with the work that I was doing.

What I wish was different

Covid-19 had obvious effects on this internship that were out of our control. We attempted to minimize the effect, yet it ultimately played a role by creating delays in our work.

Advice

Be confident! The learning curve may seem steep but there is a wonderful community of people who are there to support you.

The aftermath of the camp, the feeling of something that I have done that helped make this world a better place.

What I wish was different

The first day at camp is extremely difficult and nothing seems to be going right. But it's only the first day like this, everyday it's getting better and better to that point, where you don't wanna leave anymore.

Biology Research Intern

June - August 2019 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

I loved working in a Research lab with others who do this as a career. It gave a glimpse of what a research career would look like. I also liked how independent the projects were and how they actually gave us tasks to perform, not simply cleaning after some other person as a lab aide.

What I wish was different

Nothing

Advice

Must be a self motivated person able to work well in both individual and group settings.
