What I liked

I really enjoyed the experience itself. I learned so much from this internship, and it wasn't just limited to taxes. It's good to know what tax preparers actually do on a day-to-day basis. I would suggest that every student take advantage of internships that they have; it really puts your career and future into perspective.

What I wish was different

I guess if there's one thing I would change it would be the trainer's availability. They had a senior accountant train me and any questions I had would be directed at him. I totally understand why they set it up that way, but when the tax season actually began and I still had questions, I felt bad for asking him because I knew he was incredibly busy.

Advice

Never give up. I struggled for the first week with this internship. I had days where I didn't want to come back because I just wasn't understanding the information at all. As the days went on, the more knowledgeable I became and substantially increased my confidence and skills.
