What I liked

The community is very outgoing and they really enjoy trying to fill in the gaps created by the work at home experience. There are many voice chats set up and a virtual office environment which includes knocking on doors and letting people into your office. The people here make the company great.

What I wish was different

A large deal of my work involved internal tools and programing techniques that involved an internal language and documentation that made it more difficult than normal to get help when stuck on something. I wish there had been better internal documentation outlaying common problems and fixes as this would have been very helpful to not have to seek out my mentor every time I ran into one of these issues.

Advice

Being this is a start up company, it feels very small and tight nit. The company is very transparent to its employees and everyone has at least some involvement or input in most facets of the company. However, about half way through my internship, they started hiring quite a few new people which made the dynamic start to shift a bit. I'm not sure if the end result will leave the company with quite the same feeling.
