It was nice working my own schedule, only needing to talk with dog parents in order to plan timing.

What I wish was different

I wish that there wasn't a pandemic during this time.

Advice

When first meeting a dog, ask the dog parents if they have a favorite treat you could bring--definitely ask for permission before feeding the four=legged friend!

What I liked

I really enjoyed caring for someone and just being able to put a smile on their face!

What I wish was different

I wish that the roles of the position were better described in detail before starting the position. I could have accomplished this by asking more questions.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would share is to have patience. Working with the elderly can be tiresome so it is important to always maintain your composure.

Offered a degree of flexibility, not that mentally exhausting thus allowed studying afterwards each day.

What I wish was different

Not much if anything, as a temporary or part time job it was all around fine and even rewarding, just not my personal preference for the rest of my life.

Advice

Be prepared to deal with the public/customers and their preferences/thoughts.

Bigger shop/work space and good communication with metal recycling plant

Advice

Although electronic waste is abundant, it would take a lot of time and supply to see a significant amount of income from recycling precious metals. If precious metals recycling is taken up as a hobby, it could reward some bonus cash in the long run.
