What I liked

I loved the atmosphere and the people that I worked with. The restaurant was clean, the people were friendly, and the money was great.

What I wish was different

My overall experience was pretty incredible, however, if I were to change one thing it would be the way the boss handled specific situations. As a person, she was great, as a boss and a manager she was lacking in some areas. So, I wish there had been better communication there.

Advice

Don't get discouraged when you have bad tip days. Not everybody tips 20%, and not all guests are going to be pleasant. However, put a smile on your face and be the best employee you can be. The good days WILL outweigh the bad.

I liked how I was treated as upper management because coming into a new place and telling people what to do is hard.

I wish I could have worked in different departments

Advice

Make sure you make time for yourself during your internship! I made lots of life long friends and we made time to hang out during the summer so make sure you do that!
