The Internship Program at Shelby Farms Park Conservancy seeks to provide a meaningful and relevant experience which equips students with the tools necessary to develop a distinct professional acumen and lay the foundation for lifelong success in the nonprofit sector and beyond.
Under the guidance of an Internship Supervisor, students are able to apply traditional academic classroom learning to actual work experience, gain an appreciation of the roles, duties, and responsibilities of the work that the student has chosen as a career, develop marketable skills and grow professionally.
Internships can be tailored to fit student’s needs and interests, ranging from event management, programming, education and outreach, communications, or a combination of these. Time commitments can range from as few as 15 hours per week up to 40 hours per week depending on the desires of the student and the requirements prescribed by his/her University.
