Integration and test intern
May - August 2018 • Cambridge, MA
What I liked
Hands-on work, varied projects, freedom to choose what I would work on and make decisions.
What I wish was different
I ended up doing a lot of software even though I was hired as a mechanical engineer, and the software interns were paid more. At times my bosses didn't have anything for me to do so I had to invent my own projects or sit and do nothing.
Advice
You'll have a much better time in this position if you are very self directed and able to figure out the next step in a bit project. You'll also need to be able to do work in all engineering fields if you don't want to be bored.
