What I liked

I loved being able to learn the corporate side of management and learn from amazing mentors about new training and design tools. It was a fun atmosphere and the company really wants to make new employees feel part of the brand when they walk into the door.

What I wish was different

When I first started my position, there wasn’t a lot for me to be working on, because they had made this position specifically for me. Therefore, it was new and management needed time to figure out what work load to give me.

Advice

Working in the corporate world is very different than anything I’ve ever experienced. The best thing I’ve learned is to always ask questions. But also to not be afraid to say “i don’t know”. It doesn’t lower who you are as an employee or what you’re capable of, learning is part of our careers. No one should hinder you from curiosity.

Marketing Sales Intern

What I liked

Signal 88 Security had great mentorship for their sales training. I came in with no clue on the fundamentals of selling but within weeks I felt comfortable prospecting clients and following the sales process. In addition, they have a clear chain of command and room for interns to grow within the company.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was a designed structure to each work-day. In order to be successful with this position you must be able to structure your own day and tailor it to your daily duties.

Advice

This can be a great career step for any individual if you are willing/capable to learn and adapt. You will fail at sales and you must be able to use those as stepping stones.
