Silverpen Productions

Content Writing Intern

June - September 2018 • Saratoga Springs, NY

What I liked

I enjoyed the weekly check-ins, the constant reassurance that the content I was creating was up to Silverpen Productions magazine standard. If it was not, there was no tension or hesitance to provide constructive feedback on how to improve my writing. There was a value and emphasize on building my writing portfolio, which will be useful to have a variety of published work to show when applying for future job/internship positions. Jenna was supportive. I got the sense that as a business women she is very successful and able to accommodate all the responsibilities she has to manage.

What I wish was different

In person meetings would have been a lovely addition to the internship, however, as people with increasingly busy schedules meeting in person can be difficult.

Advice

Working remotely takes consistent effort and dedication. Organization and holding yourself accountable to meet deadlines is crucial, I would even say the the heart of position, besides creating meaningful content that the audience will relate too.
