Undergraduate Intern

September 2020 • Boston, MA

What I liked

The environment is very welcoming and friendly.

What I wish was different

The internship position is remote, so I'm not getting a lot of hands-on clinical or counseling experience.

Advice

Just be friendly and don't be afraid to jump in and help other interns and staff members as much as you can! They'll appreciate the effort.

Summer Representative

May - September 2019 • Boston, MA

What I liked

The operations and admission staff are so kind and helpful. They helped create a comfortable learning environment and also made all of the summer reps feel appreciated.

What I wish was different

I wish I was offered more than 20 hours a week because I had to get a second job to fill up that extra time.

Advice

Do not stress about asking questions, even if it is a project you have worked on previously. It's better to do it right the first time with a bit of help rather than mess up the whole project and fix it!

Cell Research Intern

May - July 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

This research position was an amazing opportunity to learn the ins and outs of cell culture and cell wound repair. The experience provided exposure to creating an original hypothesis, conducting in depth literature research, and independently conducting cell culture research. There were also many opportunities to work with high tech microscopes and other relevant scientific equipment.

What I wish was different

It could have been improved with a more structured schedule/curriculum for the summer but this is understandable as I participated in the first year of the program. It also would have been nice to have more concrete goals and deadlines for the program so there would be some kind of scholarly outcome.

Advice

This experience is perfect for someone who is looking for their first research position. The professor is very kind and willing to explain each step of the process.
