What I liked

My Project Manager, Matt, and his Assistant PM, Justin, were both extremely helpful resources for learning how to manage a commercial construction project. I was told by almost all of the subs that I was the most useful intern they have ever met, and also that I was the best representative from Site Specific because of my quick answers and my curiosity about how each trade was done.

What I wish was different

I wish I had a better Superintendent. He did not manage his site well, which led to many easily avoided issues occurring at later dates due to his negligence and inaction. His office days started half an hour later than he expected everyone else to show up (unless he showed up before 6am on the rare occasion just to criticize me for being "late for not being early").

Advice

If you want to take one piece of advice into any life situation, it should be to look at everything with an open mind even if it seems uninteresting at first. I was skeptical of Site Specific because of how young and small of a company it was. I should not have been. Everyone at the company tried their best to make the company as successful as can be, even though the approach often differs per person. As an intern, I just tried to just keep the subs motivated while the bosses worked on whatever they needed to. When I was needed for computer assistance, or for an assignment, I would complete it as soon as possible so I could return to watching the subs while asking them questions about their work.
