What I liked

What I love about working at Skinalytics, Inc was the strong mentorship, flexible working schedule, and friendly working environment. I had received a lot of valuable feedback on my work to help me grow as a developer. When questions arise, my mentor was always able to provide guidance to lead me to find the solution. Additionally, the weekly meeting was great as we were all able to share our ideas and opinions and then work as a team to find solutions to the problems we faced. My experience there was great as I felt comfortable communicating with my mentor freely.

What I wish was different

I wish we could have more team projects. I had one team project and it was great. It was a valuable experience communicating with other interns and seeing their approaches to solving problems. As a team, we were able to help each other and achieve a solid result for our project.

Advice

My advice is to always communicate with your mentor and other interns. You will face challenges during the development cycles, but don't be afraid to ask questions. Do your own research first and reach out as soon as possible. Your mentor will guide you and help you to grow!

What I liked

I liked the flexibility of being able to work whenever and however much I wanted per week. I liked the weekly meetings with my mentor and other interns. I liked how close I was with my mentor.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have worked as a part of a team. I wish I had more communication with the other interns.

Advice

Skinalytics Inc. is a small company, and during the software engineering internship, I worked on updating and improving an already existing mobile application. My advice is to not be afraid to learn new things, as that was one of the goals my mentor had for my internship experience.
