Advice
Don't let managers scare or lie to you in a workplace, stand up to them with the REAL policies (STAY WITHIN POLICY IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO THIS)(example: manager tells you that you have to do something, if you're a little suspicious, ask politely to see the policy that says you can, if they cant show you then that's the end of it and they will find someone else to break that policy.) A coworker of mine was too short for a few things so a manager told her to just climb the shelves, reason being, "its too slow to go find a ladder" (which is AGAINST POLICY) and I informed her that she could get in a lot of trouble for doing that, she stopped and, yea it takes her a lot longer to do her job, but now she isn't at risk of getting fired. The manager was mad but couldn't do anything because it's within policy. Once you start doing that and they realize they can't use the scare tactic on you to get you to do 10x the work, stuff that could get you fired, or work that isn't your job, your job gets a lot easier. They actually start to get scared of you because you know the real rules, and know your rights. That's something no manager wants. Manipulation is a KEY part of most managers at most workplaces, be careful.
TL;DR:::::: READ THE POLICY, THAT OVERRIDES MANAGERS
