Snap-on Incorporated

Marketing Intern

October 2019 • Conway, AR

What I liked

I love the friendly and close-knit co-worker environment! I have also had multiple opportunities to work on exciting new projects and give my advice on marketing designs and budgets. Love having my own area and computer space to formulate and create new ads, website/brochure descriptions, and communicate with those partnering with Snap-on!

What I wish was different

Advice

Be prepared to research and understand what you are working on. For the Conway location, our main emphasis is on wheel balancers, tire changers, wheel aligners, etc. for the vehicle repair market. Having strong writing skills will benefit you in the long-run!

What I wish was different

Advice

Do not be afraid to network within your job -- chat with the CMO and people much higher up with you. It impresses them.

Finance intern

August 2019 • Kenosha, WI

What I liked

Learning the job of financial analysts working for a large multi-million dollar company that is international. I like making the money transfers between large banks inside and outside of the U.S. as well as having the opportunity to make short term borrowing and investment decisions, speaking with brokers from large banks, it makes me feel like my role actually matters to the finance department.

What I wish was different

More movement around the firm with less cubical work. Other than that I can't complain too much.

Advice

Do you homework before the interview for an internship role, know more than what a person can find out by simply just going to the company website. Also, fine tune your craft and your overall knowledge about the career of interest, this will show them you are serious about taking your career to the next level and that you are ready. Once in the position treat everyday as a learning opportunity and a time to grow.
