It was wonderful working outside in such a serene setting. It was a rather social position and I had the opportunity to talk to the visitors and my employers.
What I wish was different
It was a lot of manual work, and that isn't a bad thing, but it wasn't a lot of experience in the different jobs involved in horticulture. It also wasn't education as I hoped it would be. I would have liked to get paid too but it wasn't in the budget this year.
Advice
Stay hydrated. It gets very hot and humid working in this environment. I suggest a sun hat, short sleeve shirts and cargo capris to keep cool while not getting dirt all over.
