What I liked

I had the most influential, informative, and welcoming time at Southern Arizona Legal Aid. My supervisors truly made an effort to mentor me academically , professionally, and personally. I learned how to write attorney notes , improved on multitasking, and attended attorney/client clinics. It was my first hands on experience in the law field and it could not have gone any better.

What I wish was different

I do wish that restrictions due to covid had not hindered the experience. It is totally understandable, but those who are able to actually sit in real clinics to observe attorneys talk to clients rather than over zoom will truly get the full experience.

Advice

I think my advice is to put your best foot forward and be open to constructive criticism. SALA provides an open welcome relationship. However , it is not an easy line of work so be open to criticism. Constantly improve on previous criticism. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
