Special Olympics Missouri
The mission of Special Olympics Missouri is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for 17,142 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills & friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes’ and the community.
Special Olympics is so much more than just sports. It’s a movement that transforms communities by inspiring people to open their mind, to accept and include people with intellectual disabilities, to celebrate, recognize and respect the differences and similarities we all share.
