Splicer Films is pioneering an approach to documentary filmmaking while adapting to the ever changing climate to produce content remotely. We are innovative filmmakers with a tech-forward approach to film production. Our team aims to document diverse perspectives and impactful stories that open hearts and minds.

Our documentary short, Finding Ubuntu, is an uplifting story profiling a Congolese refugee who emerges as an unexpected hero in the midst of his own crisis. Our current docuseries in development, Unmasked: Real Heroes, Untold Stories, profiles unsung heroes leading social causes to solve issues in their communities.

Video Editor Intern

“I had a great experience as a video editor intern. I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from social media content to highlight reels to trailers. I even was able to contribute to the documentaries themselves as a screenwriter and assistant editor. Interns are given plenty of creative freedom and have a say in what content they would like to work on. After the first few months, I became the editing team lead through which I led meetings, trained interns, and gained leadership skills. And though the internship is remote, I was able to attend several in-person events where I documented film festivals and spoke to audience members and the protagonists of the documentaries. The internship also allows interns to collaborate across teams, so as an editor I was able to work with marketing team members and screenwriters. It is a very collaborative environment and I loved being a part of the team. ”

“I was very thankful to be promoted to Lead for Summer 2023 as I felt this really recognized my hard work and dedication to the Splicer Films team during my role as an intern for the Spring 2023 semester. Being a Lead, I was able to manage a small group of interns as well as lead team meetings. This greatly helped me develop my leadership skills. As Operations Lead, I was given the opportunity to advance my analytical skills by creating new workflows and visualizations to help the company effectively manage its processes and databases. This job was also fully remote, which allowed me to work flexible hours and save money on transportation.”
