I love helping others, which is why I chose to volunteer. It gives me the opportunity to support people in need, contribute to the community, and gain valuable experience in healthcare. Seeing the positive impact of my help makes me happy and motivates me to keep giving back.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time than currently schedule to volunteer and help even more people. It would have been great to receive more training to improve my skills and make a bigger impact.
Advice
Volunteering is a great way to help others and learn at the same time. My advice is to be open-minded, patient, and willing to learn because even small efforts can make a big difference

What I liked
I liked getting experience in a hospital setting with health administration. It was a great experience in the field that I'm considering going into, and the hospital employees created a very welcoming, nurturing environment for me.
What I wish was different
I wish that I'd had more opportunities to speak with the upper-level hospital administrators to better understand their jobs.
Advice
Sit down with different employees of the hospital to get a feeling for their jobs and the overall level of morale at the hospital. All of the employees that I met really loved the St. Joe's community.
