“Interning at the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department (SLCPHD) was a great opportunity for me to get a sense of what a career in public health could look like. Since the field of public health is so broad, I was very appreciative of the time I was able to spend with each sub-department of the SLCPHD. It was a great chance to gain exposure to a variety of areas within the field. Throughout my time at SLCPHD, I felt fully supported by my supervisor and other members of the staff in my efforts to complete various projects. I was provided with general direction, but also had room to follow my interests. ”
