If you are interested in becoming a Registered Nurse, become a Nursing Assistant before, or while you're in the program. I have already gained so much experience and respect for other Nursing Assistants.

I enjoyed working with all of the St. Luke's employees. Everyone was very welcoming and helped me through my internship.
What I wish was different
I wish it had been a little easier to get started. The orientation and all the things needed was very time consuming.
Advice
I would advise you to get know everyone in your office. Don't be afraid to ask questions, it will help you in the long run.

I wish we were able to perform RN skills and not just CNA tasks.
Advice
If you are in a nursing program apply for a SNAP program in your area, you won’t regret it. The knowledge and confidence you gain is invaluable.

I liked working with a group of coworkers who were equally as passionate about the work as I was. I was nice to not be the only one who cared about things that needed to be done.

I wish I would've had better hours and not worked day after day when we were short staffed.

Be confident in the interview and keep in mind why you wanted the job and what the experience will help you achieve in the future.

Advice
Set your sights high. Decide what job/ industry you want to work in and go get it. Utah State provides you with a very competitive education. Dare mighty things and win glorious triumphs.

I got to shadow an RN all summer and get paid!

It would have been nice to practice nursing skills, but this is being worked out with the Idaho State Board of Nursing for future cohorts.

Learn as much as you can and form good relationships with your co-workers!
