About Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies, known as Stanford Seed

Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies, Stanford Seed's Transformation Program works with small-to medium-sized companies from the West African region to help them become market leaders in strategic sectors, such as agriculture, water/sanitation, education, energy, healthcare, manufacturing and ICT. The Program has two components: (1) intensive training primarily by Stanford GSB professors on core entrepreneurial topics/skills; and (2) business coaching by Stanford and other alumni with significant experience in leading and growing companies. We work with Stanford Seed companies in West and East Africa to help link Stanford Students to opportunities with Seed companies.

“This opportunity gave me a lot of agency to come up with my own ideas and test them out at the school. Working closely with teachers and students to plan and create accessible, engaging, and most importantly, fun curriculum was both rewarding and impactful at my time at Stanford. I now have lifelong friends in Accra and cannot wait to go back and explore more of West Africa in general. ”
