I loved getting the opportunity to meet prospective students and their families and giving them tours of campus. It was also so nice being able to work so many more days and earning more hours than I normally would during the school year. The Admissions counselors and staff are the nicest group of people and they always made sure their student workers were taken care of and doing their jobs properly.
What I wish was different
I don't really wish anything was different. I loved getting the chance to grow closer with the other student workers, the Admissions counselors, and the families I met while giving tours of campus.
Advice
Get ready to grow and develop new leadership skills, and to meet a lot of new people!

Student Worker

What I liked
I worked as a student worker for the Office of Communications and Marketing. I really liked being involved in social media projects for the Office of Communications and Marketing. I also liked looking at pictures of Augustana student life and Augustana's history. I liked helping out with admissions tours. I got to be involved and on camera for social media projects.
What I wish was different
I did not really like how the job was mostly a desk job. It wasn't very dynamic and could be very tedious without much interaction or getting to know my coworkers.
Advice
I went into the job not really knowing much about what I wanted to do, so I ended up doing a lot of various and miscellaneous tasks. It's always good to go in with a goal and have passion for the things you are doing because it will make it more fun! I wish I realized sooner that I was interested in social media work.
