I loved interning at SNN because it was exactly what I want to do when I graduate. I aspire to be a reporter/ anchor. At SNN I was able to shadow reporters and even got to do my very own report that aired.
What I wish was different
I wish I would've started earlier in the summer so I could have done more of my own reports. The News Director really encouraged interns to make their own packages and find news to report on so they can get experience other than just shadowing.
Advice
Advice I would give anyone wanting to do any experience with news is to listen carefully to whoever is training you. In news, and especially at any news station the way they film, edit and publish content is different. If you want to succeed, be malleable to your work environment.
